Late August | Summer Meet-ups Each grade will have a summer meet-up at school before school begins. |
September | Kindergarten Parent Coffee Join Mr. Livingston and PTO Exec for coffee and conversation on the Kindergarten playground. |
September | Back-to-School Bash Come celebrate the beginning of the school year with other Crow Island families! |
September | Go-to-School Night The purpose of this evening is to get to know your child’s teacher, hear a bit about the classroom routines and expectations, and learn about the grade-level curriculum. |
September | Buddies (1st/4th Grades) First and Fourth graders are paired up as “buddies”. They meet throughout the school year to read, play, and learn together. |
September/October | Picture Day Just like when you were a kid… |
October | Run-a-thon Crow Island students run together to raise funds for the school and charity. more >> |
October | Halloween Ghost Walk Costumed students parade around the school and see some unexpected sights in the woods. Will the “Ghost of Crow Island” appear this year…? |
November | Book Fair Find age-appropriate, worthwhile books while raising money for the school. more>> |
December | Winter Sing-A-Long Students, teachers, and families come together during the school day to share the joy of the season. |
February/March | Crow Island Parent & Teacher Party This fun evening event provides a welcome opportunity for parents, teachers, and staff members to socialize together. more>> |
February – May | Pioneer Room (3rd Grade) This memorable trip back to pioneer times is the culmination of the pioneer unit—and for many—the highlight of their years at Crow Island. |
March | Spring Sing (1st/2nd Grades) Student creativity, music, and art come together in a seasonal evening performance. |
March | Immigration Day (4th Grade) The 4th graders complete their immigration unit by becoming American citizens and enjoying an international lunch. more>> |
April | S.T.E.A.M. Expo Students in grades 2-4 share their research and investigations. more>> |
April/May | Portfolio Conference Days (Grades 1–4) Students share the highlights of the year and reflect on their growth with their parents. |
May | Camp Edwards (4th Grade) Students enjoy a variety of outdoor explorations on this trip. more>> |
May | Spring Sing (3rd/4th Grades) Student creativity, music, and art come together in a seasonal evening performance. |
June | Field Day Students in grades 1–4 participate in a variety of fun outdoor competitions. more>> |

June | 4th Grade Party Fourth graders celebrate their years at Crow Island at an evening pizza party. more>> |
June | Crows on Parade (4th Grade) The creativity of the 4th graders is displayed on the school lawn in the form of large plaster crows. more>> |
Ongoing | Birthday Lunches During their birthday month, children in grades K–4 will be invited to have lunch with peers from their grade and Principal Livingston. This is a favorite activity for Mr. Livingston. Bead Necklaces Every year, kindergarten students work hard to make a clay bead necklace for their parents. We encourage you to wear your beads to special Crow Island events at school (e.g., Spring Sing, First and Last Day of School, etc). |
