The Annual Crow Island Run-a-thon is one of the PTO’s largest fundraising events of the year and is a school tradition dating back to 1985. This outdoor event engages the Crow Island community in a common goal around developing a healthy & active lifestyle while supporting the PTO along with a local charity. During Run-a-thon, kids are encouraged to run or walk 30 laps around an assigned track. In the weeks leading up, kids request donations from family and friends to support their participation in Run-a-thon. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Misericordia Special Olympics Track & Field Team.
Teachers and staff will cheer on the students running and tally their laps, as no parents will be allowed this year. We will also be getting footage of the running and a video will be shared of the event.
The Run A Thon schedule is as follows:
Monday 5/17: Cook, Dechovitz, Keenan, Kerouac, Petersen, Rorick, Wimer
Tuesday 5/18: Ambrose, Brody, Creelman, Dickey, Dunn, Hazelwood, Martin
Wednesday 5/19: All Kindergarten classes (Farnham, Parks and Petrillo)
Remote students: Parents of remote students can refer to their communication from room parents for specifics on their Run A Thon plan.
Dugo students on quarantine: Their schedule has been adjusted so that students will participate in the Run A Thon when they return to in person learning.
