District 36 Strategic Plan and Portrait of a Graduate

The Winnetka Public Schools community has shared a deep commitment to Progressive Education for over 100 years. Our School Board, administrators, and staff are honored to continue our history of excellence by cultivating rich experiential learning opportunities and fostering the academic and social and emotional skills that our students need to thrive now and into the future. To further advance this important work, the District embarked on an ambitious Strategic Planning process starting in March 2020 with the involvement of over two-thousand contributors representing students, staff, parents, community members, and alumni. One of the results of this process is the District’s Portrait of a Graduate:

Crow Island Yearbook

The Crow Island Yearbook is a beloved program for both parents and students. The yearbook features photos from across the school year as well as class pages with students’ professional photos (taken in the early Fall) as well as two pages of each class’s candid student photos. It’s a fun remembrance of highlights throughout the year. For those who choose to order a yearbook, students will receive their copy in class during the final week of school.

If you have multiple students at Crow Island, you may wish to order a separate yearbook for each student. The yearbook includes autograph pages for those students who choose to capture signatures and notes from their classmates and teachers.

Click here to order (log in or create a TreeRing account if necessary).  Order your child(ren)’s yearbook(s) by September 30th to receive a 10% discount. Contact CrowIslandYearbooks@gmail.com if you need to confirm a purchase.

Parent Teacher Organization

The Crow Island Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is a volunteer organization that oversees programs at our school.  There are more than 50 committees requiring chairpersons and volunteers. It takes more than 250 volunteers to run the PTO’s programs each school year.

The PTO manages and funds a variety of programs and events each year to develop, enhance and support Crow Island students and teachers in all aspects of the school environment. Programs run throughout the year and some are big while others are small. Whatever your commitment ability may be, there’s always an opportunity to get involved. See the descriptions below for all the PTO programs.

For questions about volunteer opportunities, please contact the VP of Programs via email at crowislandprograms@gmail.com.  Please consider how you can get involved and thank you in advance for your interest.
