After School Programs

After School Programs are now being coordinated and run district-wide by Right at School who currently manages the before and after school care program for D36. See below for this fall’s Crow Island Programs.

After school programs start the week of September 23rd & end the week of December 6th.

Registration closes on October 4th.

HOT SHOTS SPORTS – Total Sports Enrichment

This enrichment program features a new sport each week. Some of the sports taught and played include basketball, floor hockey, football, kickball, soccer, and baseball. In addition, participants play many popular running and group games. Children have the opportunity to acquire new skills and develop confidence in games they have played in previous classes.  

Chess-Ed’s Chess Enrichment Program

This exciting and dynamic enrichment chess program provides professional instruction in the “sport of the mind” CHESS.  The basics and beyond will be covered over the year from the board, pieces, movement and values, plus opening game theory, middle game tactics and strategies, and finally the end game combinations that lead to checkmate. New vocabulary and higher math skills are part of this enrichment chess program. 

Young Rembrandts – Elementary Drawing Class

Got a little artist at home turning every corner into their personal gallery? It’s time for their creativity to meet the vibrant world of Young Rembrandts! Watch in awe as their pencils whirl across the paper, drawing everything from yummy taffy apples to charming seasonal scarecrows, and bunnies full of sass. We’re even sprinkling a bit of Van Gogh magic with some vibrant sunflower sketches. Embark on an artistic adventure filled with colors and imagination they’ll absolutely adore. iCook Inc : Flour Power

iCook: Our pastry-chefs-in-training will learn about the power of flour in our new Baking and Sweets course.  We will explore ingredients familiar and new to bake savory and sweet dishes. Foundational cooking skills will be taught, including proper techniques for measuring, mixing, slicing, dicing, and of course, kitchen safety! We hope to see you in the kitchen soon.

Play-Well TEKnologies – Adventures in STEM with LEGO® Materials

Let your imagination run wild with tens of thousands of LEGO® parts! Build engineer-designed projects and use special pieces to create your own unique designs! Projects are rotated seasonally to ensure that both new and returning students can explore the endless creative possibilities of the LEGO® building system.
