Registration for Session 2 of the after school chess program is underway! The 15-week program takes place on Tuesdays from 3:15-4:15 pm and runs from 1/23/2018 to 5/15/2018. The chess program is taught by Chess-Ed instructors and is open to all Crow Island students, and students of all chess abilities, novice or continuing. Professional instruction will include the basics for novice players and build with opening theory, middle game planning, and end game combinations for continuing students. Playing chess improves memory, uses analytical and critical thinking skills, teaches problem solving, responsibility, sportsmanship, social skills and more! The benefits of chess last a lifetime!
Specific dates for the Winter Session: 1/23, 1/30, 2/6, (no class — 2/13), 2/20, 2/27, 3/6, 3/13, 3/20, (no class – Spring Break – 3/27), 4/3, 4/10, 4/17, 4/24, 5/1, 5/8, and 5/15/2018.
